Sure, you can take a trip to Las Vegas and drive to Los Angeles or visit the Deep South but at RouteTrip USA, we have an in-depth knowledge of the USA and can give you a full, detailed and tailor-made itinerary. We will put you in great hotels, based upon your budget, desired rating or our recommended accommodation.

Yes, we take your financial protection extremely seriously and have taken a belt-and-braces approach to protect your money in two ways. We are full ATOL Licence holders (#11486) and from the moment you pay your deposit and secure your trip, your entire flight inclusive holiday package will be fully protected.

We are also members of Protected Trust Services (PTS) who provide industry leading and fully compliant trust account services to the travel industry which ringfences clients monies for all flight inclusive packages sold by RouteTrip USA as an additional layer of financial protection.

In addition, through our arrangement with PTS we further protect your money in compliance with "The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018"

In the unlikely event that we stop trading, PTS and the CAA will ensure that you can either continue your trip unaffected if you are already on holiday or give you a full refund if you have yet to travel. 

Yes! Although many customers love our standard itineraries, we enjoy making bespoke trips either by adapting one of our existing trips or planning a new one from scratch. Let us know as much information as you can and we’ll be delighted to plan a trip for you.

Our usual deposit is 10% although we occasionally run promotions where a lower deposit is payable. Sometimes, when a bespoke trip is booked or a trip including the Rocky Mountaineer, Eaglerider or Cruise elements, we will often require a 20% deposit.

Final balance will normally be payable 12 weeks prior to departure but may change depending on supplier requirements or the bespoke nature of a trip. We can usually accept monthly payments at no extra charge.

Unless otherwise stated, you will get a package holiday comprising of all flights, hotels and car hire. You will usually also get airport lounge passes for your outbound journey, with our compliments and of course our road trip pack which includes all your flight, hotel and car hire vouchers, a detailed itinerary and  guide book. You’ll also be supplied with a USA contact number and email address should you need any assistance while you’re away. We also offer, subject to availability the option to borrow a USA mobile phone with satnav software to help you on your travels.

Generally, our price will only include flights, hotels and car rental and anything else that has been specifically itemised in your quote. Below are some of the items which are generally not included unless specifically mentioned.

International Flights: Seat upgrades, early seat allocation, luggage over the airline allowance.
Domestic Flights: Hold luggage is usually not included in the price and is payable on check-in. 
Car Hire: Additional drivers are not included unless mentioned. One-way rental fees, extras requested at the rental desk and any damage/excess are not included.
Hotels: Sometimes a small local/tourist tax will be payable on check-in. Some hotels will also charge a "resort fee” on check-in. Parking & breakfast may be charged.
Food: Other than breakfast, which is sometimes included in the hotel rate, meals are not included in the cost.

Activities, park entrance fees and any additional items are not included unless we have specifically booked and itemised this for you.

Of course! Our address, opening hours and a local map are in the Contact Us page. We would be delighted to discuss your holiday ideas with you and even look at maps and pictures with you. We do ask that you call or email in advance to make an appointment.


We are not restricted to any one airline, although we will usually use British Airways, American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Delta or United. Sometimes flights will be marketed and operated by different companies such as a BA flight (and number) but operated by American Airlines. If you collect airmiles or would prefer us to quote for a specific airline, please do let us know.

We can usually add your loyalty membership information to bookings to enable you to collect airmiles or you can often add it when you check-in. We are not able to redeem your points for flights though. If you would like to redeem your points, you can do so directly with the airline and contact us for the hotel and car rental package which we can tailor to fit with your independently booked flights.

For your main international flights, luggage is normally included. This can vary by airline and class of travel. However, for a typical enonomy flight, you can usually take a 23kg suitcase in the hold, a 23kg carry on case (must fit in overhead lockers) and a personal item/laptop/handback which must fit under the seat in front on you.

In Premium Economy, Business Class and First Class, you can usually take 2 suitcases weighing up to 32kg in addition to your carry on items.

For domestic flights, luggage will not usually be included (unless this is part of a transatlantic connecting flight) and can be added/paid for during the check in process.

You can usually check-in online 24 hours before your flight, this will save time at the airport. Occasionally this will not be possible or the airline may require spot checks and you will be required to check-in at the airport.

For international flights, we recommend checking in at the airport 3 hours before departure
For domestic flights, we highly recommend checking in around 90 minutes before departure

Please let us know if you need special assistance during your trip and we will ensure that your needs are catered for as best we can throughout your holiday. We will also advise your airline if you need assistance at the airport.

For our clients who have specific meal requirements, we will endevour to request this with the airline, although you may need to confirm your meal preference when checking in with the airline and/or onboard.

Generally, commercial air travel before week 36 of pregnancy is considered safe if you have a healthy pregnancy. However, we highly recommend checking with your doctor before flying and most airlines will require a letter from your doctor after 28 weeks.

You will normally clear Customs and Immigration at your first point of entry into the USA or Canada. If you are taking an onward connecting flight you will usually need to re-check your baggage onto your next flight.

If your flight departs from or connects in Dublin, it is usually possible to complete immigration there.

Included: Airport tax, current fuel surcharges, security charges, UK Government departure tax, scheduled airline failure protection and standard luggage allowance (unless otherwise stated, transatlantic/connecting flights only).

Not Included: Seat upgrades, early seat allocation, any luggage over the airline allowance, any luggage on USA or Canadian domestic flights (unless part of a transatlantic connecting flight).
