Our Ultimate Hawaii trip includes nights in four of our favourite Hawaiian Islands.
You can explore the volcanoes and rainforests, enjoy relaxing on the beach and spend time in bustling cities or fishing ports.
We have included car rental in Maui and Big Island, although airport transfers are included at the other locations. We can add additional car rentals if you would like to explore further.
Remember - All our holidays can be shortened or extra nights added or modified with upgraded hotels, car etc. We love building tailor made road trip holidays!
Although you can fly straight (with a connection) to the Hawaiian Islands, we recommend stopping for at least one night en route. We suggest LA, San Francisco or Las Vegas. In Sin City, you can get through passport control and relax for a couple of nights with great resorts, food and drink.
Today you’ll make the approx 6 hours flight from Las Vegas to the island of Oahu. Here you’ll find Honolulu, the Hawaii state capital, famous Waikiki, Diamond Head State Monument, a 300,000-year-old crater and the USS Arizona Memorial, which commemorates the lives lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Just 40 minutes by plane from Honolulu is the six-million-year-old ‘Garden Island’, made popular in movies and known for its lush landscape. Both Waimea Canyon State Park and Koke'e State Park offer hikes featuring Waipo Falls and sweeping views of the Kalalau Valley.
You’ll take a mid-afternoon flight to the largest and southeasternmost of the islands - Hawai’i, more commonly known as the "Big Island”. You will have four nights here to enjoy natural attractions such as Volcanoes National Park, the stunning Rainbow Falls and the lush rainforests.
The second largest island, Maui, is your home for the next 4 nights. Collect your rental car and enjoy whale-watching, pristine beaches and the spectacular Road to Hana. Sunrise at Haleakala is a must-see experience too. The awe-inspiring sight as the sun rises through the clouds is a vision you will never forget.
You can fly straight back to the UK, with one connection but we recommend you take at least one night in LA or San Diego to break up the journey on your way home. Both LAX and San Diego Airports are close to Santa Monica and downtown San Diego respectively. Relax, have a meal and finish your holiday in style.
Make the most of your final morning in Los Angeles today. Maybe you’d like to cycle to Venice Beach, see the famous Hollywood sign or walk down Rodeo Drive. This evening you’ll catch your overnight flight back to the UK.
If you have a few more days available, we can build the Pacific Coast Highway into your trip. Drive from San Francisco through Monterey, Big Sur and Cambria before arriving in Santa Monica for a couple of nights before heading to Hawai’i. A minimum of 4 extra nights would be recommended
This city is a must-do. If you’ve never been, we certainly recommend a minimum of 3 full days here to give you time to enjoy this vibrant city. Ride a cable car, visit Alcatraz, drive over the famous Golden Gate Bridge and have dinner at Pier 39. Oh, and don’t forget the Painted Ladies!
We can add a few nights at the end of your holiday so that you can visit San Diego at the southern end of California. Enjoy the Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego Zoo and maybe take a day trip into nearby Mexico from here.
