UPDATED ITINERARY FOR 2021!
This ride is all about immersing yourself in the history and spirit of the Blues that surrounds you in the Deep South. Starting in New Orleans you’ll get a chance to stroll down magical Bourbon Street before heading north. You’ll explore the sites where famous musicians were inspired to delve deep into their souls; Natchez, the Devil’s Crossroads and Memphis where you’ll be able to enjoy the blues and BBQ. We’ll then head into Nashville, known as Music City for the final leg where you can visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash Museum and see a performance of the Grand Ole Opry!
You will join a group for this fixed itinerary. However we can add additional nights at the start or end of your holiday if you wish.
Days 1 & 2:
New Orleans ( 2 nights)
New Orleans retains much of its French colonial influence and has a lot to explore. This unique American city is famous around the world for its culture, cuisine. On day two we'll pick up our bikes and spend the day exploring one of the Antebellum Plantations and gardens. Let us know if you’d like an extra day or two added on to explore this wonderful city.
Blues Trail to Natchez
We’ll begin our ride today by way of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, at 28 miles it is the longest bridge over water in the world! From there we spend the day riding the backroads of Mississippi, experiencing our first towns along the Blues Trail we’ll be following for a few days. Tonight, we get to explore the great blues town of Natchez, on the Mississippi.
Today we continue to immerse ourselves in the history of the Mississippi blues along the Blues Trail. We’ll also explore parts of the Natchez Trace. Before arriving at our hotel, we’ll take a stop at the “Crossroads” where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil. Tonight, it’s cold drinks and live blues!
Today is all about Memphis! Music lovers around the world know Beale Street, a national historical landmark. Legends such as Louis Armstrong and B.B. King all helped develop the style known as Memphis Blues. One of the city’s most important Rock & Roll icons is Sun Studio. It’s just a short ride today so we’ll have plenty of time to explore this amazing city.
Sweet Home Alabama!
From Memphis we’ll head into Alabama where we’ll have time to explore the famous city of Muscle Shoals. Since the 1960s, the city has been known for music – developing the "Muscle Shoals Sound", as local recording studios (including FAME Studios in the late 1950s and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in 1969) produced hit records that shaped the history of popular music.
Today we head into the southern Appalachian foothills of Tennessee for a beautiful day of riding along the winding and historic Natchez Trace Parkway. We’ll also make a stop at the Jack Daniels Distillery for lunch and a guided tour of this famous site! Tonight, we’ll land in the Country Music Capital of the World – Nashville!
Days 8 & 9:
Last Day & Fly Home
Make the most of your final morning in Music City today. This evening you’ll catch your overnight flight back to the UK.
Please let us know if you’d like another day or two here before you fly home. We can even arrange car or motorbike rental for the extra days.
