Fly into the Sunshine State and enjoy a few nights in the trendy Miami Beach before heading down one of the most amazing roads in the world through Key Largo and Islamorada down to Key West, the most southern point in the USA. You’ll then drive back to Miami for your flight home. This trip is easily customisable; perhaps you’d like to fly into Orlando to spend a few days at the theme parks or maybe you’ll take a couple of days to explore the Everglades National Park.
All our road trips can be shortened or extra nights added or modified with upgraded hotels, car etc. We love building tailor made trips!
Days 1 - 4:
Miami Beach (4 nights)
You’ll arrive in Miami and settle down at your hotel for 4 nights in trendy South Beach. You may want to relax on one of the gorgeous beaches or do a bit of shopping. We can recommend taking a walk down Ocean Drive enjoying the many art-deco buildings. We can supply a great art-deco self guided walking tour for you at no extra charge.
Islamorada is known for its sport fishing and, as you’d expect fresh seafood is the highlight of the Islamorada restaurant scene. Visit a tropical themed bar to take in the Florida Keys ambiance, take in the fine art and music while wandering through the Art and Cultural District, or just relax around and enjoy this beautiful part of Florida.
Days 6 - 8:
Key West (3 nights)
Take the “Overseas Highway” south which is a breathtakingly scenic road made up of bridges connecting the many islands together. You’ll stay in Key West for three nights so enjoy the laid back atmosphere and the gorgeous sunsets at Mallory Square. You’ll want to visit Ernest Hemmingway’s house too.
Days 9 & 10:
Key Largo (2 nights)
You’ll no doubt want to have your photo taken next to the large buoy noting that this is the southernmost point in continental United States before you leave Key West. Then head back along the Overseas Highway; enjoy the drive and take in the stunning views until you arrive in Key Largo. You’ll stay here for your final two nights in Florida.
Days 11 & 12:
Key Largo & Fly Home
There’s plenty to do in Key Largo. We highly recommend visiting the Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park and the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and there are various wildlife sanctuaries in the Key Largo area. In the afternoon you’ll take the 60 mile trip back to Miami and this evening you’ll catch your overnight flight back to the UK.
Just west of Miami, the Everglades National Park covers 1.5 million acres of swampland. Enjoy this stunning and unique environment which is home to a variety of wildlife including Alligators!
Orlando is less than 250 miles north of Miami. Why not fly into Orlando instead of Miami and add an extra few days at the beginning of your trip to visit Universal Studios or Walt Disney World?
